Demonstrate to babies
Communicate with them using gestures and signs. This way, they would be encouraged to try to talk too. Respond to babies when they make a noise like you would to an adult. By responding to their cries, you are teaching them how to be considerate to others; how to offer a helping hand to those who speak up and ask for a favour.
Give attention to your child
This should not be mistaken for over-pampering or spoiling your child. It simply means you care for them by kissing and holding them. This translates to teaching them the basis of love and affection. You are making them feel the importance of love; to be there when their attention is mostly needed.
This is the toddler stage when your child now has access to construct few sentences. Show them how to respect and not hurt others.
